Setting up your organization

Last updated: 26 Oct 2026

Most of setup is under Settings, and the order matters: taxes and policies before products, payments before you sell, team last so people arrive to a working account. Each step links to the full guide. Budget an afternoon.

1. Who you are

Settings → General: name, slug, time zone, legal business name and organization number (they print on receipts), country, currency, address, and contact details. Then Branding for your logo. See Organization.

2. Taxes

Settings → Taxes: one tax group per VAT rate you use, each with its ledger account, and a default per category (accommodations, fees, events, services, products). Prices in SERVOS are tax-inclusive, so this is what decides how VAT is extracted. See Taxes.

3. Cancellation policies

Settings → Policies: your terms for stays, tickets, and bookings, with a default per category. See Cancellation policies.

4. Payments

Settings → Payments: connect SERVPAY and finish the onboarding so you can take cards; add your external payment methods (cash, bank transfer, invoice); register card terminals if you have them. See Payments and terminals.

5. Your first module

Whichever you run:

Everything starts as a draft. Publish when it's ready.

6. Team

Settings → Users: invite colleagues with the right role. Owners and admins change settings; members run the desk. See Team and roles. Point front-desk staff at Front desk basics.

7. Test it

Make a booking at the POS on a test customer, take a card payment, find the order, download the receipt, and refund it. Then book the same thing online through your public page and watch the emails arrive. Ten minutes here finds most setup mistakes.
