Settings → Data Migration imports historical reservations from a Mews CSV export, so past stays, orders, and customers are in SERVOS from day one. It is a file import, not a live connection: you export from Mews, upload, map Mews room types and rooms to yours, and run it. Starting an import needs an owner or admin.
Before you start
Create your accommodations and rooms in SERVOS first, since the import maps onto them (it can also create rooms for you). Export the reservations table from Mews as a CSV.
The import
Press Start Import:
- "Upload CSV": drop the Mews file. Cancelled and optional reservations are skipped.
- "Map Data": match each Mews space category to a SERVOS accommodation under "Room types", and each Mews space number to a room under "Rooms", or pick "Create new room" to have one made. Everything must be mapped to continue.
- "Preview & Import": the counts of stays, orders, and customers, and the first 50 reservations. Press Import … Reservations.
- "Importing": progress with "Imported" and "Skipped" counts, then "Import complete" or "Import failed".
For each reservation the import creates the customer (matched by email; without one, a placeholder address), the stay, an order with its items and tax lines, and an external payment labelled "MEWS Import". Re-importing the same file skips reservations already present rather than duplicating them. A failed import is re-run from step 1.
Common questions
Some reservations were skipped. They were cancelled, optional, or already imported. The counter tells you how many.
Can we import from a system other than Mews? Not through this page. Ask SERVOS.
Does the import email guests? No. Imported stays and orders create no emails.
