The first row on the Components tab sets the package price. A stay or a bundle can use "Fixed price" or "Item prices". All prices include VAT, like everywhere else in SERVOS.
A fixed price
Pick the unit in the "Quantity" column and enter the amount in "Price":
| Unit | Stay | Bundle | The guest pays |
|---|---|---|---|
| "Per guest" | Yes | Yes | Price × guests |
| "Per guest per night" | Yes | No | Price × guests × nights |
| "Per booking" | Yes | Yes | Price, once |
| "Per night" | Yes | No | Price × nights |
With a fixed price, the included items show their normal price in grey. That price doesn't change what the guest pays. It only decides how the package price is split across the lines on the order. See "How the price is split" below.
A room can have its own price. The room row, or each room's line when there are several, has a price field that shows the package price as its placeholder. Enter an amount to charge that instead when the guest books that room. It uses the same unit. Use it when the family apartment should cost more than the double room.
Item prices
Each item costs its own price for the chosen dates. In a stay the guest pays the room's normal direct price for the dates, with your pricing rules applied, plus the included items at their normal prices. In a bundle the guest pays the included items at their normal prices. The percentage in the "Price" column then adjusts that sum. Enter a negative number for a discount, "-10" for 10% off, or a positive one for a mark-up.
For example, two nights at 1,000 kr plus two dinners at 300 kr is 2,600 kr. With -10% the guest pays 2,340 kr. Change the room's rates and the package follows.
The guest count is priced as adults, since the booking page only asks for a number of guests.
In this mode the included rows get a price field. The placeholder shows the item's price with your percentage applied. Leave it empty to follow that. Enter an amount to fix the price of that row. A fixed row price is not adjusted by the percentage. On the room row the amount is per night and replaces the room's rate.
Extras
Each extra has a price field. Empty means the item's normal price, shown as the placeholder. Enter an amount to charge something else, or 0 to make it free. With several items on an extra, the row says "Own prices" and each item gets its own field.
The guest pays the extra's price times its quantity, on top of the package price. Extras are never adjusted by the percentage.
"From" prices
Before the guest has picked dates, the booking page shows the lowest fixed price, with "From" when the rooms have different prices. A package at item prices shows "Depends on your dates", or "Depends on your choices" for a bundle.
When a component lets the guest choose and the items have different prices, the quote uses the cheapest item and shows "From" until the guest picks.
How the price is split
The guest sees one package price, but the order holds one line per part: the stay, each product, each booking, each ticket. SERVOS splits the price across them so each line carries the right VAT rate:
- Extras get exactly their own price.
- The rest of the package price is spread over the included parts in proportion to their normal value. The room's value is its normal price for the dates.
- Each share is rounded down to whole kroner per unit. What is left over from rounding goes on the room.
For example, a 3,000 kr package with a room worth 2,000 kr and two dinners worth 300 kr each puts 692 kr on the dinners and 2,308 kr on the room. Each line keeps its item's tax group, so the dinner is taxed as food and the room as accommodation. Included add-ons get their share inside the stay.
This is also why the normal prices of included items matter under a fixed price. They set the split, and with it the VAT on the order. Keep them realistic. See Taxes.
Common questions
The package costs less than its parts bought separately. That's allowed. The split spreads the discount over all included parts in proportion to their value.
Why can't I set a price on an included item under a fixed price? The package price covers it. Switch to "Item prices" if you want to price items one by one.
Guests pay 0 kr for an extra. The extra's price is set to 0, shown as "Free". Clear the field to go back to the item's normal price.
