Selling tickets

Last updated: 26 Oct 2026

Tickets sell in two places: on the public event page, where customers buy and pay online, and at the POS, where you sell them at the desk. Either way each ticket becomes its own line on an order and its own ticket with a code and a QR code, and the customer gets them by email.

At the POS

Open the POS and the Events tab. Each upcoming event is a tile with its image, category, and name, and either "From" the lowest ticket price or "Sold out" (greyed out, can't be opened). Tap a tile to pick tickets:

  • Every ticket type is listed with its price "/ ticket" and, when capacity is limited, how many are left.
  • Ticket types outside their sales period or in Draft are marked "Not on sale"; ones with nothing left are marked "Sold out". Neither can be picked.
  • Use the steppers to set quantities, then press Add Tickets to Cart.

Tickets need a customer: checkout sends you to Assign customer if the cart has none. Then check out as usual; see Checkout and payments. Private events show up here even though they are not listed on your booking site, and Private ticket types show up here even though they are hidden from the public page.

Tip

Tickets sitting in an open POS cart count against capacity until the cart is checked out or cleared. If a popular event reads as sold out earlier than it should, check Carts for abandoned carts holding tickets.

Online

Customers reach the event through its public link (the one "Copy link to event" gives you). They pick quantities per ticket type, press Add Tickets to Cart, and pay in the cart. Sold-out ticket types are marked and can't be selected. Tickets in an online cart hold capacity for 15 minutes and are released if the customer doesn't complete the purchase.

What the customer receives

When the order completes, a customer with an email address gets the order confirmation and a separate email, "Your tickets for …", listing each event with date, time, and venue, and a View Tickets button. The button opens the tickets page: one card per ticket with the guest name, status, ticket type, venue, a QR code, and the ticket code ("TKT-" followed by eight characters). Several tickets on one order are shown as a carousel the guest swipes through. The page updates live, so a ticket flips to "Checked In" the moment it is scanned.

Customers signed in to the guest portal also find their tickets there, with an Add to calendar button and the cancellation policy that applies. See The guest portal.

To resend the tickets, open the order, find "Ticket email sent" in the activity, press View email, then Resend email.

Following sales

The event's Sales page (the badge shows tickets sold) has three numbers at the top, "Revenue" with a daily sparkline, "Tickets Sold", and "Check-in Rate", and below them every ticket with its code, customer, ticket type, price, order, status ("Issued", "Checked-in", "Cancelled"), and purchase time. The search box matches the ticket code; the "All variants" filter narrows to one ticket type. Press a ticket code for the ticket page, or an order number for the order. Everything here updates live as tickets sell and scan.

Sharing sales figures

The share icon on the stats card ("Share link to statistics") creates a link to a public statistics page for the event: revenue, tickets sold against capacity, and a "Sales by ticket type" table with quantity, share of sales, average price, and revenue per ticket type. Useful for an organiser or promoter who isn't a SERVOS user. Set a "Password" in the dialog if the numbers shouldn't be open to anyone holding the link, press Copy link, and Save. The page shows sales, not attendance, and isn't indexed by search engines.

Common questions

A customer bought four tickets. Do they get four emails? No, one email with a View 4 Tickets button; the tickets page shows the four tickets as a carousel, each with its own code and QR code.

The customer didn't get the ticket email. Check the email address on the customer, then resend from the order's activity ("View email" → Resend email). A customer without an email address gets nothing, so add one and resend.

Can I sell a ticket to someone without an email address? Yes. Assign a customer without an email at the POS; they won't get the email, so open View Ticket from the Sales page and show or send them the ticket page yourself.

Can I see who bought tickets by name? The search on the Sales page matches ticket codes. To find a customer's tickets, open the customer's profile or their order instead.

Can I export the ticket list? Not from the Sales page. Ticket sales have their own sheet in the financial report export; see Taxes for the bookkeeping exports.
