Press Checkout and pick one of three ways to settle the sale:
Card on a payment terminal, Link to email a payment link, or Mark as unpaid to create the order now and collect later. Whichever you choose, the register hands you a fresh cart the moment the sale is done.
Card
Card appears when a payment terminal is registered (an owner sets that up under Settings → Payments). Pick the reader, and the amount appears on it for the guest to tap or insert. The screen shows the charge in progress with a "Cancel" button. A failed payment offers Retry or Cancel sale. On success, the order is created, the confirmation email goes out to the customer, and the register resets. An in-flight charge survives a page reload; you can pick it right back up.
Link
Link emails the customer a payment link. Confirm or enter their details, choose how long the link stays valid (from 1 hour to 7 days), and send. The customer pays by card on a secure page with your branding, the order and receipt follow, and you get a fresh cart immediately. No waiting at the counter while they pay.
If the customer on the cart booked through a booking site such as Booking.com, SERVOS shows the address on file and asks for the guest's own email: a booking site's address doesn't reach the guest. For a walk-in, enter their email. The link goes to the address you enter, and the sale is recorded on the customer with that email, not on the booking-site profile.
Queue at the desk? Link frees the counter. Send it and take the next guest; the register resets immediately.
Mark as unpaid
Mark as unpaid creates the order right away without payment, for invoiced companies, house accounts, or anyone settling later. The order confirmation email is sent unless you untick it. Tick "Guest agreed to marketing emails" only when the guest said yes; it records their consent for the email you entered. Collect later from the order page: send a payment request, charge a terminal, or record an external payment. See Payments and refunds.
Taking cash today works through this path. Mark as unpaid, then record an external cash payment on the order. The order is paid and receipted in two steps.
Discounts at the register
Discounts in the left rail shows your preset discounts as tiles. Tap one to apply it. The Custom discount tile takes a percentage or fixed amount with a title and optional note. Both apply to the whole cart, or only to the items you've selected by tapping their rows first.
Applying discounts requires an admin or owner; staff accounts see a permissions message instead. Discount codes are for your online checkout. At the register you apply the discount directly. See Discounts.
Common questions
The terminal shows nothing. Check the reader's status in the checkout list. It must be online. If no reader is listed at all, one needs to be registered in Settings → Payments.
The customer walked off before paying. Back out of checkout. The cart stays open. Take it up again from "Carts", or use Mark as unpaid and chase payment with a payment request.
Can I split a payment between two cards? Not at the register today. Use Mark as unpaid and take the parts as separate payments from the order page.
